Robert G Di Savino

Born on April 30, 1945, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bobby was the son of the late Gordon DiSavino and Bertha DiSavino (née Engels).

Bobby was raised in Union City, New Jersey, alongside his brothers, Gordon “Flash” DiSavino and Thomas Delaney. He attended Washington Grammar School and Union Hill High School before answering the call to serve his country. In 1962, he joined the Armed Forces and proudly served in the United States Army and United States Marine Corps, including a tour in Europe. His time in the military was an important part of the man he became, instilling in him a deep sense of pride, strength, loyalty, and devotion.

After returning home, Bobby settled in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Faith Agnes DiSavino (née Reilly). Together, they moved to Bayonne, where they built a beautiful life and raised their beloved daughter, Kelly.

Bobby spent much of his professional life as an operations manager, working for Gimbels, Unimark, and D&R Management. He eventually retired, and in 2001, he and Faith made their way to Florida, where Bobby found a place that truly felt like home.

He absolutely loved the beach and the Florida sunshine. If the sun was shining and the waves were calling, there was a good chance you could find Bobby there. He embraced the warmth, the ocean, and the simple pleasures that Florida offered, and it was difficult to imagine a place that suited him better.

Above all else, Bobby was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His greatest joy was his family, and his grandson, Connor DiSavino, held a particularly special place in his heart. Connor was not only his cherished grandson, but his best buddy, and the bond they shared was one of Bobby’s greatest treasures.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Faith; his parents, Gordon and Bertha; and his brothers, Gordon “Flash” DiSavino and Thomas Delaney.

He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Kelly DiSavino-Hicks, and her husband, Joshua Hicks; his cherished grandson and best buddy, Connor DiSavino; many loving nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Nancy, along with many others whose lives were touched by his friendship, humor, kindness, and unforgettable spirit.

Bobby will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, his love of family, his appreciation for the simple joys in life, and his unmistakable presence. Though he is no longer walking beside those he loved, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

Services for Bobby will be held at Aycock Funeral Home Tradition in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Viewing Sunday Aug. 23rd 12-4

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Bobby’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, one of his favorite organizations.

Rest peacefully, Bobby. You were deeply loved, you will be profoundly missed, and you will remain forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call you Dad, Pops, Grandpa, family, and friend.
