On Monday, July 24, Sheldon Delaney Herron passed away peacefully in his family home at the age of 56. Surrounded by his loving wife Jennifer, his two sons Alex and Reece, and many others who visited and stayed by his side, Sheldon was cared for in the most wonderful way.
Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Sheldon moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with his family at a young age before moving to Jupiter, Florida, where he met his wife Jennifer and established the family-owned Mako Electric with his father and brother.
Diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in April 2018, Sheldon fought so hard against this terrible disease that spread throughout his body during the course of his fight. So many rounds of chemo, radiation, surgeries, hospital stays, the list goes on, but he NEVER quit and NEVER gave up. His strength will continue to live on through all of us.
Shelly cared so much for his family, he was the most loving son, husband, and father. Even on his darkest and toughest days, he still found time to make his family and friends laugh and smile in ways that only he could. Shelly loved his family and friends. The support EVERYONE gave him is what kept him going the last 5 years. It’s been such a tough road, such a hard battle, so difficult to see for so many reasons but Shelly always stayed positive and never gave up.
There’s so much more that could be written or said about him, but Shelly was the most incredible man, teacher, guider, someone you could always lean on. You couldn’t ask for a better son, husband, father, or friend.
Shelly is survived by his wife Jennifer, parents Wallace and Judy Herron, sons Alex and Reece Herron, brother Trevor Herron, niece and nephew Ryan and Olivia Herron, among so many more.
A Celebration of Life for Sheldon will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Twisted Tuna, 353 S. US Highway 1, Jupiter FL 33477.
