Shirley Naomi Jackson

Shirley was raised in NYC and after graduating Julia Richman H.S. she studied dance ballet and Tap in addition to modeling while working for the Girl Scouts in Administration . Shirley was a Social Butterfly and co founder of the Elegant Ladies club in NYC and introduced to Winston Jackson when he moved to NYC from Fla. in the late 1950’s.

Shirley and Winston fell in love and were married on Valentine’s Day 2/14/1960 and moved to the Bronx and within the same year they welcomed their first child Wendy Michelle Jackson on 12/27/1960. A few yrs later Shirley began working for the NYC Dept. of Finance in the Bronx in 1963. Winston and Shirley moved to a new residence in the Bronx in 1965 and welcomed their second child KellyAnn Jackson on Valentine’s day as an Anniversary present on 2/14/1966.

Winston and Shirley purchased an apt in 1969 and moved to Co-op City in the Bronx. Shirley maintained working for NYC Dept of Finance and was transferred to the Manhattan office in 1970. In addition, Shirley attended College of New Rochelle in NY and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1973. Shirley was a very active member of her Union local 1199 and was elected as a Union Delegate in 1972 Shirley’s office was transferred to Bklyn, NY in 1985 and after 29 yrs Shirley retired as a Finance Tax Administrator in 1992 from the NYC Dept of Finance.

Shirley and Winston always wanted to enjoy their Golden years in a warm climate and purchased their own land in 1992 and had their home built and moved to Port St. Lucie Fla. in 1993. Winston and Shirley were very Devout Christians and attended Church services faithfully every week. Shirley became a very active member of her church for (3) decades faithfully with other church members and participated in Volunteer work at The Mustard Seed on a weekly basis. In addition, Shirley joined a Book Club and weight Club for more than several decades with other church members and friends. Shirley’s main passion for fun after retirement was playing Bingo several times a week with family, church members and friends.

As the years flew by Winston and Shirley wanted less responsibility of owning a home and moved to an apt. in 2015 located in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Winston received his Angel wings on 4/27/16 and went to be with the Lord. Shirley maintained their apt for a year and moved to reside with her daughter Kelly, Son in law Roger Morgan and Grandchild Wynter. Shirley received her Angel wings on 9/10/26 and went to be with the Lord and join her husband Winston up in Heaven.

Shirley was a Great, Great, Grandmother and was an Angel on earth Deeply Loved and Respected by her family and friends. Shirley leaves behind her daughters Wendy and Kelly, Grand daughter Wynter Jackson and Son in law Roger Morgan. Shirley’s Stepdaughter Margarette Kent preceded her in death in 2014. Shirley also leaves Grandchildren Curtis Kent and Darrin Kent (3) Great Grandchildren and (2) Great Great Grandchildren. Shirley was a Godmother and leaves behind her (2) dear Godchildren Debbie Stuart and Steven Mckenzie Shirley also leaves behind (6) siblings. Joyce, Gloria, Jackie, Joan Sylvia and Sandra (5) siblings preceded her in death Irving, Stanley, Reggie, Delores and Evon.

Shirley was a Beautiful unique Lady a child of God and a very Devout Christian Shining her light on Earth!! Possessing a warm Loving Soul with a HEART of DIAMONDS and GOLD!!. Shirley will always be loved and Never forgotten here on earth and up in Heaven May GOD cradle Shirley in his Loving Arms and Shine her Beautiful Bright Neon Light and Love throughout ETERNITY!! Life on Earth will Never be the same Until we meet Again!!
