SRO Steve Brown was born in Naugatuck, CT to his parents Arthur and Deborah Brown. He attended schools in Connecticut and attained an Associates Degree.
SRO Brown was sworn into the Port St. Lucie Police department April 9, 2004 and proudly served the citizens of our community, especially the youth in the community for 14 years. He served the agency as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and School Resource Officer. He was also the coordinator for the Florida Police and Fire Games, member of the Treasure Coast Intervention team, School Resource Officer Specialist awarded by the Florida Attorney general's Office, Gang Investigation, In house Human Diversity Instructor, Kids at Hope Treasure Hunter and was a phenomenal chef multiple times for the St. Lucie County Big brothers and Sisters Chili Cook-off. He was actively involved as an instructor for the Port St. Lucie Athletic league, radKids program and the Junior Police Academy.
SRO Brown is survived by his loving wife Maria; devoted children Nicholas and Isabella; Mother, Deborah Goffredo, Southbury, CT.; Father, Arthur Brown of Ft. Pierce, FL; Brother, Gregory Brown and his wife, Jia of New Haven, Ct. Several Nieces and nephews.
There will be a public viewing at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 350 NW California Blvd. Port St. Lucie on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception immediately following the Mass at the Church.
