Bill was born in Pen Argyl, PA. A brilliant mind, he achieved a perfect score on the SAT, and was later accepted for membership in Mensa.
He spent most of his career at Wil-Freds Inc., the Naperville, IL, business founded by his father, Walter William Luxion, whom he eventually succeeded as President. The firm became one of the largest general contractors in the Midwest, and helped build and renovate over 100 schools in Illinois.
During his tenure, Wil-Freds successfully sued the city of Chicago to officially recognize Native Americans as a minority group. As a result, he was invited to the annual Crow Fair in Montana and inducted as an honorary member of the tribe.
At age 52, a traumatic brain infection forced his early retirement and his subsequent move to Florida. In spite of his new physical and mental challenges, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and sharing the knowledge he gleaned from many, many books with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Kvapil; his two sons, William and Michael; two brothers, Dennis and Cliff; two sisters, Ardyth Morrow and Mercedes Barrs; and a dog, Mia, who will miss his long walks and loose hand on the leash.
He also wished that Donald Trump and Elon Musk would get started on solving global warming by placing mirrors between Earth and the Sun.
A celebration of life will be held at Naperville Country Club from 1pm – 4pm on Friday, November 23rd.
