William Frederick Richards

William (Bill) F. Richards, age 87 of Port St Lucie and Palm Beach Gardens. Florida, passed away on July 3, 2026. He was born in New York City on November 5, 1938, to parents Friedericke (Frieda) Hafekost Richards and Dr. William R Richards, of Connecticut. Bill spent his young years with his grandparents in New Jersey while his father served in WWII as an Army doctor.

Bill graduated from Hamden High School, CT., and went on to receive a BS degree from Columbia University and an MS degree from New York University. Bill was a US Army Veteran in Vietnam in 1963. He worked for Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Co. in Hartford, CT., for 25 years. For many years, Bill enjoyed traveling the world, playing golf, and in bridge leagues.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diane Richards. Children are Mike (Shannon), Dori Richards, and Hohn (Heather) and their children: Michael, (Abby) Amber, Hanna, Gabriel, Devereau, Gigi, Tyler and Brennan. Bill is also survived by his step children, Dawn (Len) Bowes and Christy Vibert and her children, Christian and Cody. Also, there are six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be announced and held at Aycock at Tradition in Port St Lucie.
