Winston Lloyd Martin

Winston Lloyd Martin was born on December 9th 1932 in Lucky Hill, St. Mary in Jamaica West Indies to Edna Coward and Ernest Martin. He was 93 years old. Winston was affectionately known as Doc or Doctor. He had 7 siblings Delroy, Keith, Oswald, Lorna (Lovie), Lilly, Florene (Sweety) and Lucille (Betty). He grew up with very strong family and work values which guided him throughout his life.

Winston married the love of his life Pixie (Barbara) Martin in 1962 and they had three children, Dr. Kevin, Jody and Lancelot. They were Married for 50 years when she transitioned into heaven. Truly a great loss for us all. He began raising his children in Kingston, Jamaica and subsequently migrated to the United States in 1980 to the Bronx, NY. After many years in NY, he moved to Florida with his wife Pixie and son Lance. He was a very present, strict, no-nonsense father. He was a man of few words, however got his point across without saying much. In Jamaica he was known as the music man. He loved music and was the DJ for many of his friends and family parties. One of the things that brought him the most joy were the family reunions with his siblings, nieces and nephews.

He spent most of his career working in insurance sales, however also dabbled in few other entrepreneurial ventures.

He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 2012 and his son Kevin in 2021. He is survived by his devoted daughter Jody, his precious son Lance, 2 sisters Lilly and Lorna, and many nieces and nephews. He encourages loved ones to honor his memory by gathering together just as always and to treasure all the memories of family and friends.
