George Washie Jones Jr passed away at home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 51 on April 3rd, 2020 in Vancouver, Washington, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
George was an exceptional man who loved his family deeply and had the biggest heart. He always made sure to tell them “I love you the whole wide world”, and always signed the ASL “I love you” as he was leaving which he did several times as he was saying his goodbyes. George was a God fearing and hardworking man that loved working in the logging industry. He could climb trees with ease and took pride in his work. He was known to his family and friends as George of the Jungle and one Bad Ass Logger. He loved Country music and loved to dance. He would use the phases “Family First”, "get back Jack", and of course the absolute “I’ll Decide”
George was born on Saturday, January 11, 1969 in Portland, Oregon, son of Sherry Lee Zimmerman and the late George Washie Jones Sr and he is one on nine children, father of five , grandfather of three, and uncle, nephew, and cousin to many and loved by all
George is survived by his mother Sherry Zimmerman, Daughter Anna Jones, Son George Washie Jones 2nd (Olivia), Daughter Cindthia Jones (Rico), Daughter Heather Jones (DeNika), Son Bradley Jones, Granddaughter Sophie Vidrios, Grandsons Darian and Tanner Jones, and Partner of 21 years Colleen Thompson. He is also survived by Brother Donald Van Meter (Becky), Sisters Donna Easlick (Bryan), Annie Jones, Corena Johnson, and Brothers Jonathan (Lisa), Jason (Ashley), and Jeremy Light and all his beloved aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins; the mother of his children Kristen Emerson and stepdaughter Corrie Schrader.
He is predeceased by his Great-grandparents Denver and Alice Miller (Zirkle)-Roland and Reba Zimmerman, Grandparents Albert and Millard Zimmerman (Miller)- Rea and Ruby Jones, Father George Washie Jones Sr, and sister Anna Ruby Jones.
Due to social gathering restrictions, George’s celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
