

Portland – A. Ruth ( Anthony) Crocker, 86, of South Portland died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Barron Center where she had been a resident since April 2008.
Born August 7, 1924 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Hebert and Olga (Magee) Anthony. On February 9, 1946, she married Robert L. Crocker who predeceased her on July 14, 1989.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, walking, camping and traveling. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She was very active at the Chestnut Street Methodist Church until its closing and then attended the State Street Church.
She is survived by her children; David L. Crocker and his wife Lynn of Kennebunk, Lloyd Crocker and his wife Jeanne of Scarborough and Lee Crocker and his wife Claire of Windham, two grandchildren; Daniel and Ashley Crocker, four step grandchildren; Thomas and Elizabeth McCarthy, Caitlin Corbeil and Christina Grady and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Eleanor Johnson and Kay McGirr both of Canada and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Lloyd Anthony and her sister Doris Moffat.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial services will be held in mid January, 2011. A service announcement will follow with date and time.
