Portland- Adrienne M. Harris, 33, of Aldworth Street, passed away on January 21, 2019 at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Portland, a daughter of Rudolph L. Sr. and Deborah E. (Gilbert) Harris. Adrienne graduated from Deering High School, attended USM, SMCC and graduated with honors at Robert Morris University in Chicago, IL, majoring in Nutrition and Physical Fitness.
She enjoyed poetry, cooking, crocheting, biking and physical fitness. Adrienne was a music lover (First Chair Clarinet at Deering High) and loved all dogs, the color pink and the Golden Girls.
The youngest of 4 children and the only girl, Adrienne was adored, cherished and loved by her older brothers. They were very protective of her even if she was being a pain.
Adrienne and Deborah shared a special bond not only as mother and daughter but as best friends. Holidays were special times together whether it was picking out pumpkins or picking out Christmas trees. Holiday craft fair hopping was a tradition every year (secretly purchasing gifts for one another).
Rudy Sr. and Adrienne also shared a special bond during workouts at the gym and listening to and sharing music. One year, Adrienne surprised her dad with Jay-Z tickets for Christmas and the following year he surprised her with tickets to her favorite artist Justin Timberlake. When she was born, the first thing dad said once he saw her (after 3 boys) was, “Now my life is complete”.
Adrienne’s family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Critical Care Unit for their exceptional care and compassion.
She is survived by her parents of Portland; siblings, Andrew Harris and his wife April of Sabattus, ME, Rudy Harris Jr. of Westbrook and Damien Harris of Portland; grandmother, Nancy Gilbert of Westbrook; Uncle Arthur and Aunt Jackie Gilbert (Godparents) of Westbrook; Aunt Stacy and Uncle Ron Hodge of Standish; Uncle Michael Harris of Philadelphia, PA; Uncle Canaan Harris, MD of Houston, TX and Aunt Valerie Harris of Westbrook. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Talula Harris, Haylee Harris, Acacia Marquis, Jasmine Harris, Alexis Harris, Caden Thompson and a host of cousins and close friends.
