Mr. Crockett was born June 9, 1940 in North Haven to Parker and Miriam (Gillis) Crockett. He moved to Buxton and then Portland, graduating from Deering High School in 1958.
He served in the Navy and started his career as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Clement Brothers in Portland. He continued as a Mechanic Foreman, Harris Oil Company, the City of South Portland, and Paul G. White Tile Co. Mr. Crockett was a very skilled mechanic, particularly adept at setting up fleet maintenance program systems, greatly minimizing down time for vehicles and reducing maintenance costs for his employers. He worked well beyond retirement at Paul G. White through this year and was extremely popular with his co-workers. His common sense approach, strong work ethic and quick Maine humor will be truly missed.
Mr. Crockett was married on August 8, 1964 and is survived by his wife Josephine Fields Crockett of South Portland. He is also survived by his daughter Lisa and her husband Paul C. White; and grandson Joshua White, all of Falmouth. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Ronald Crockett of Port Clyde, and a sister, Jane Bragdon of Windham. He cared deeply about his family and loved providing updates to everyone about his grandson. He also loved reading, politics, hot rods, and current events.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Martyrs Church, 266 Foreside Rd, Falmouth, ME at 11 a.m. on Wednesday December 28, 2016 with a committal service to follow at Calvary Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Thursday December 29, 2016.
