Scarborough- Alfred E. Harrington, 83, of Portland died December 3, 2011 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was a graduate of Portland High School and served in the Military during the Korean War. He was employed by Brockway Smith Company for 31 years before retiring. He was predeceased by his grandson Christopher R. Harrington. He is survived by his wife, Irene, of 60 years and three children, Vicki Aaskov and her husband David of Windham, Wayne Harrington of Jefferson, and Bruce Harrington of Portland, two grandchildren Melissa Bartz and her husband Dustin, and David J. Aaskov, two great grandchildren, Calvin Bartz and Brendon Harrington, two sisters Idona Peachy, and Patricia Bischak and a half sister Barbara Hansen. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford Street, Portland.
