He was born on November 12, 1947 in Portland, ME, a son of Alfred and Angela (Guidi) Neff. Allan grew up in the city and graduated from Portland High School. He went on to earn his MBA and spent his career working as a chemical engineer. He also proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.
Allan cherished his family and loved spending time with his sisters, brothers, cousins, daughter, son-in-law, and baby grandson. He also loved spending time with the many friends he made at Maine Veterans Home, including his roommates and the staff. As the President of the Residents’ Council, he was an advocate for other residents of Maine Veterans Home. Allan also enjoyed sharing meals with his friends at Maine Veterans Home, especially salami Italians with a dessert of blueberry or apple pie or graham crackers with chocolate hummus.
Throughout his life, Allan enjoyed going for walks, keeping up with current events, cheering on Boston sports teams, and collecting coins.
Allan was predeceased by his parents as well as his stepmother, Anna Russo Neff.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Neff) Uviasah, her husband, Jason,
and their son Zion. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Ron, Joe, Mike, Margaret Russo, Mary Taliento, Joanne Desjardins and Stephen Neff.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, August 23rd, at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal St. Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
