Dear Bob and Anne,

Your Dad was one of the kindest men I have ever known.  He was my boss, my mentor, and my friend, as he taught me all the ropes of the office products industry at LSH. We frequently made customer calls together, and each time I was given a lesson in relationship-building and respect for our customers.  I so valued his interest in me and my success, but mostly I treasure our friendship.

Bob & Anne.....My sincere condolences to you and your families on the death of your Father. I had the distinct honor of calling Allen......Friend....Colleague......Mentor and Father Figure. He has been a rock for me through 20 years of my medical adventures. I loved hearing his WWII stories and seeing the great book on the 28th Division since he knew that I knew about General Martin from Pennsylvania. We also swapped a lot of classic car stories and he liked seeing my car show photos.
I was privileged to serve as Social Director for our Loring Short & Harmon alumni luncheons with Allen in Topsham.....Brunswick or at Mere Point's Dining Room. We all enjoyed him very much.
With his permission I scanned and then copied several black & white photos from 1947 at L S&H in the store. There is a great shot of your Mom & one of Allen that now reside in the collections of the Maine Historical Society in his honor and memory .
I will miss him very much.
Sorry that I won't make it to Thursday's service......I am under the weather.

I enjoyed the many years that I worked with Allen at LSH. I'm sorry I won't be able to make the funeral, but my thoughts and prayers will be with his family and friends.

Bob I know you're very proud of your father and all that he accomplished during his time on earth.  So many don't come close to what he did and the people he touched.  You father will always be with you as long as you keep him in your heart.  DHS Classmate

Bob and Anne, I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Allen's passing.  I have so many great memories of picnics and times with Uncle Allen, Aunt Phyl, and you both.  Your Dad will be greatly missed.

Our condolences to the Winslow family.  Allen was a great guy with such a wonderful smile.  A real gentleman!  He will be missed by all.

Allen was such a great person.  Always had a smile and took the time to say hello to everyone. Got to meet he & Coke when they lived next door to my mother Sylvia at Thornton Hall.  He loved to play Black Jack with the group there on Friday afternoons.  Our sympathy to the family, he was a great friend to everyone.

I had the honor of working with Allen at Loring Short & Harmon. He was a true gentleman and a very kind man. God Bless Him and all of his family.
