Tony was born in Portland, ME on December 10, 1980. He attended local schools and graduated with the Scarborough High School class of 2000. Following graduation Tony enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country as an Infantry man with the 82nd Airborne 504th seeing combat in Afghanistan receiving numerous citations just days following the attacks of September 11th.
A gentle giant with a big heart would be the best way to describe Tony. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend to many that was always there to help others and put a smile on their faces. He was always willing to give of himself for others.
Tony enjoyed both participating, and watching sports. He loved outdoor time hunting, fishing and camping. He was an active member of the Scarborough American legion Post #76. and his wry sense of humor will not soon be forgotten.
Predeceasing Tony is his mother Nancy Turner Morton.
Surviving are his father George R. Lawson of Scarborough; brothers, Chris Lawson and his wife Carrie of E. Falmouth, MA, Daniel Lawson of Saco, ME, his grandmother Eleanor Salamone Lawson of Portland, and his best friend and second brother Richard Roberts of Scarborough. Also surviving are his dear niece Maddison, nephew Bradley, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A 10:00 am memorial service for Tony will be held this Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, ME. Committal services will follow with military honors at Calvary Cemetery in So. Portland.
