Anthony "Tony" Lawson

December 10, 1980October 22, 2012

Anthony Lawson, 32, of Scarborough, ME died unexpectedly on Monday, October 22, 2012.

Tony was born in Portland, ME on December 10, 1980. He attended local schools and graduated with the Scarborough High School class of 2000. Following graduation Tony enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country as an Infantry man with the 82nd Airborne 504th seeing combat in Afghanistan receiving numerous citations just days following the attacks of September 11th.

Tony enjoyed both participating, and watching sports. He loved outdoor time hunting, fishing and camping. He was an active member of the Scarborough American legion Post #76. and his wry sense of humor will not soon be forgotten.

Predeceasing Tony is his mother Nancy Turner Morton.

Surviving are his father George R. Lawson of Scarborough; brothers, Chris Lawson and his wife Carrie of E. Falmouth, MA, Daniel Lawson of Saco, ME, his grandmother Eleanor Salamone Lawson of Portland, and his best friend and second brother Richard Roberts of Scarborough. Also surviving are his dear niece Maddison, nephew Bradley, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tony, we'll miss you always. But you know what, you got a bunch of guys from up to 3,000 miles away to get together and tip a glass to you. I'd call that "a lasting impression". God bless brother, we'll see you soon. Airborne.

I am too shocked to even think. I was very close to Anthony in North Carolina and thought I would look him up after years of wondering what he was up to. I am devastated.

For my second family, I believe in God, I believe in Heaven, and I truly believe George that we will all be together someday. He's going to be preparing our 2nd home, for the best is yet to come. George, just like Tony's friend/brother, that's what you and your sisters are to me. If and when you want to talk or visit just call me, I'll always be there for you.

My Sincere and Heartfelt Sympathy to the Family. I did not know the family personally, however I watched Tony grow up through the years in the Scarborough Schools with my daughter's. Tony had that presence that was endearing. He will forever be in your hearts and those that loved him. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless. Sharon Bushner
