SCARBOROUGH - Anthony (Tony) A. Pallozzi, 91, of Portland, passed away peacefully at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday, September 15, 2018. He was born in Portland, May 30, 1927, the son of Giuseppe and Rosa (DiPalma) Pallozzi. He grew up in what was known at the time as little Italy (Middle Street area) and was a communicant of St. Peter's Church.
Tony attended the old North School and briefly attended Portland High School, leaving, as many did at that time, to help support his family. In 1952 he married the late Mary A. (Amergian) Pallozzi. They were married for 54 years and together raised seven children.
Tony had been an active member of St. Patrick's Parish, serving in many capacities throughout the years until the church closed its doors in 2013. He was also a Boy Scout Master of Troop 18 and served as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Tony served in the Army during World War II. Working as a laborer, Tony held several positions throughout his career working at the old A&P Bakery, George C. Frye Company and St. Johnsbury Trucking.
Tony was predeceased by his wife Mary; his brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Frank; his sisters Pasqualine (Pat), Vincenza (Jane), Anna and Carmella (Emily) and granddaughter Catherine.
Surviving are his children Larry and his fiancé Julie, Allan and his wife Karen, Gina and her husband Mark Johnson, David, Michael, John and his wife Cindy, Peter and his wife Barbara; his grandchildren, Larry Jr., Christina, Michael, Eric, Giovanna, Isabella, Robert, Maria, Sarah, Julie, Edie, Joey and great grandson Chase as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Also surviving, is Tony's special companion, Alice Connolly, who stayed by his side for the last eight years; his nieces, Ann Palozzi and husband Rick Fontaine and Kathy and Steve Otis.
Tony's family would like to thank all those who gave so much loving support and comfort, especially Beacon Hospice (Michelle and Dina).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home. Prayers will be recited at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 9:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10am at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church on Federal St. in Portland.
