Barbara A. Gray

Scarborough – Barbara A. Gray, 62, died Wednesday October 13, 2010 at the Gosnell Hospice House.

Born July 8, 1948 in Portland, she is the daughter of Winnifred Wing Drown and the late Walter M. Drown, Sr. Her husband, Lynn Gray, died November 4, 2008.

She was a 1966 graduate of Falmouth High School and a 1968 graduate of Gray Business School. Barbara was a member of the Falmouth Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school. When her sons were young she was active in Cub Scouts. She enjoyed ceramics and crafts and especially loved cooking and baking. Her cookies were the best.

Barbara was known as the “Neighbor Mom” always there to help. She always had a good joke and was the life of the party. She was loved by all.

Besides her father and husband, Barbara is predeceased by her brother; Walter M. Drown, Jr.

Besides her mother, she is survived by two sons; Christopher M. Gray and his companion Tina Douglass of Portland and Karl L. Gray and his companion Karen Robinson of Porter, two granddaughters; Colleen and Kendra Gray, two nephews; Michael Drown and William Pedneault and several cousins.

Visitation will be Monday October 18, 2010 from 11a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland.

Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Blanchard Cemetery, Falmouth

Barbara’s family would like to thank Maine Medical Center ER and Nurse Gary, the staff at Gosnell Hospice House, especially Ann for helping with getting them through all that needed to be done.
