Barnie L Reynolds Jr

He was raised with his family in Tehaucana Texas. Barnie graduated from Kilgor College in Kilgor TX and from University of Maine, Orono. He worked for 30 years for American National Can Company as a Plant Electrical Engineer at the plants in Portland, Needham, MA and Hammond, IN, retiring in 1982.

Barnie was a member of AARL, Maine Professional Engineers, PAWA and Aeries.

He was a mentor for numerous aspiring Amateur Radio Operators and Electrical Engineers for a number of years. Barnie taught Electrical and Amateur Radio in the Portland Adult Education system. His knowledge and skill provided guidance to the novice. His calming manner and enthusiasm was an inspiration to all. One of his many attributes was giving to others and no expectations of reciprocation.

Barnie is survived by his wife, Joyce Akerley Reynolds, Westbrook, daughter Sally Reynolds of South Portland, sons: David S. Reynolds and his wife Donna of Westbrook, John W. Reynolds and his wife Mary of Crawfordville, FL; step daughters: Deborah Rourke and husband Stephen of Portland, and Pamela J. Hall and her husband Roger of Litchfield, NH, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited for a time of Visitation from 1-2 pm Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm.
