Born in Portland to Charles and Kay (Burnham)Fairweather on May 8, 1935 she grew up in Libbytown and Graduated from Deering High School in 1953. She had many careers; from working at GMAC Finance to Delta Airlines and then onto a career as a dental hygienist with Dr. Harry Siedel. After raising her four children she went back to work at Sun Savings Bank and then Shaw’s. Her favorite career by far was being a mother to her four children and Nana to her three grandchildren. She volunteered many hours with Nathan Clifford PTO and the CCD program at Sacred Heart Church. She is a past President of the Portland Lioness Club. She was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart and St Patrick’s Churches and served as a Eucharistic Minister in both parishes. Very proud of her Irish heritage she enjoyed her multiple visits to Ireland and listening to Irish music. You could always find her enjoying the sunshine wether in a lawn chair with a good book or on the beach at the end of Eagle Ave in Saco. Think of her whenever eating a bowl of ice cream, her favorite snack.
She is survived by her sons Richard (R.B.), Charles & wife Jennifer, Jonathan & wife Sandra, and daughter Katie. As well as her grandchildren Kailey, Sydnee and Jeremy. In addition she is survived by her sisters Ellen Flessner, Sue Borduas and husband Ted and an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Mercy Hospital who treated mom with kindness and dignity during the past few weeks.
