Naples, ME- Carlene Mae McElhill-Leavitt, 74, of Naples, ME, formerly of Palmyra, ME, passed away on March 18, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 12, 1947 in Portland, ME, a daughter of Alfred E. and Vivian A. (Whitman) Rawstron.
Carlene was a true animal lover. She had two cats, misty and Izzy, and a dog Malaki.
She also loved spending time outside. She enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, feeding and caring for raccoons and loved turtles. She was quite the collector and seller of antiques, and had an eye for special antique pieces.
She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. She truly impacted everyone’s lives in such a positive way.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Randy Leavitt in 2003; her siblings, Carol and Carl.
She is survived by her daughters, Katrina Estes and Amy McElhill; previous husband, James McElhill, whom she remained close friends with; sister, Charlotte; brother, Clay; grandchildren, Alyssa, Erica, Brittany and Hailey; great-grandchildren who she absolutely ADORED, Carson and Maeve; and her nieces and nephews.
She developed a very close relationship with her granddaughter Hailey, who has lived with her since the age of 10.
