

Falmouth- Carolyn "Jean" Lambert, 78, formerly of Cumberland, passed away on December 2, 2016, following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 17, 1938, in Portland, a daughter of William Wilburforce and Lillian Etta (Goodspeed) Graves. She attended Falmouth schools and graduated from Gorham State Teachers College in Gorham, then taught elementary school in CT and area schools. In August of 1965, she married Louis P. Lambert. They were longtime residents of Cumberland, where they raised a family. Mrs. Lambert later worked at L.L. Bean in the customer service department. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, painting and spending time with family.
She was pre-deceased by her husband in 1998.
She is survived by her sons, Philippe (Olga) Lambert of Lisle, IL, and Daniel Lambert of Cumberland; granddaughter, Sofia Lambert; sister, Marjorie (Stuart) Jackson of Sebago; brother, Robert Graves of Boston; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to a time of visitation from 4-7 pm on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A private interment service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Sedgewood Commons for their exceptional care and support.
