Clara Alice Jones

STANDISH - In the early afternoon of July 4, 2016, Clara lost her fight with cancer. Born on April 9, 1959, to Roberta Morin, she was one of a family of four children. She had two brothers, Robert and Scott Whitzell and one sister Ellen Reese.

She was self employed as a webmaster and loved to yard sale. She was very active with her tribe (Houlton Band of Maliseets and was also an activist. She was involved in many cancer groups and women's issues and Native American rights.

She asked for little, and always gave more than she took. She will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 22 years, Timothy Jones, two daughters, Nicole Small of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Noelle Brown of Lake Mary, Florida and a son Ryan Mandeville of Standish, Maine. She also has 6 grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11am at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodfords St. Portland, Maine. With a graveside service at Calvary Cemetary South Portland, Maine. There will be a celebration of her life at Moose Lodge, 19 Spring St. Scarborough Maine at 3pm to 5pm.
