Falmouth-Daniel Belanger, 63, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2011 at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth. The son of Irving “Boo” and Joan Davis Belanger, Dan was born and raised in Rumford. He graduated from Stephens High School and studied civil engineering at Northeastern University in Boston. Dan worked for the Maine Department of Transportation in Dixfield as well as the Portland Press Herald. As a young man, he began building model electric cars with his father and held a passion for cars all his life. Dan was a sweet and kind man who loved people and was respected for his knowledge of history, old movies and television shows. In addition to several cousins, Dan leaves behind the caregivers at Sedgewood Commons and his special friend, Cathy, from Home Instead Senior Care. A funeral will be held on Thursday January 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford Street, Portland.
