David was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to George M. Lawrence and Ellen E. Lawrence (Sullivan) on October 23rd, 1970. He was raised in Pawtucket, RI alongside his sister, Samantha, and brother, Jason.
David graduated from St. Raphael Academy in RI and went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science degree in Architectural Engineering in 1992. This is where true lifelong friendships were created, and when his love of Maine increased. There were many adventurous motorcycle rides (often in the rain) from Rhode Island to somewhere in Maine, (maybe via the Kancamagus highway) – you just never knew with Dave.
Shortly after settling in Maine, he joined Ouellet Construction in Brunswick as a Sr. Project Manager. During his 26-year tenure, David worked on numerous great projects throughout the state, creating long-term relationships with many fantastic clients. Through hard work and dedication, David became a proud Co-owner in the company last year.
David married his wonderful wife, Beverly Brown, on a beautiful day in Georgetown Maine in the summer of 1999. For most of their married life they lived in N. Yarmouth, ME, where they designed their dream home and raised an incredible, loving family. David’s deepest source of pride were his two children, Andrew and Megan. His love and support for his family was unwavering, and he thoroughly cherished every journey with them.
David found peace watching Drew play lacrosse, his warm-hearted, insightful conversations with Meg, quiet time with Bev or walking their chocolate labrador, Reese. He was involved with the community, offering a helping hand whenever required. You could always count on David for any assistance that you may need, even if it was just his gracious listening; and in return a thoughtful opinion. He was always up for a challenge, and nothing was too complicated for David to dig in and figure out.
David’s love for the outdoors was steadfast and if he wasn’t hanging at the lake, mountain biking or skiing he would be looking for something to make or fix. He was intuitive and resourceful when it came to projects and always got the most out of all participants. David was definitely “the idea man” (which takes on many connotations) but usually ended up productive or at least a good time. He was a tenacious leader, devoted husband, dedicated father, loyal friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife, Beverly, their children, Andrew and Megan; his parents George and Ellen Lawrence; his siblings Samantha (Tom) Benevides and Jason Lawrence; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Brown; brother-in-law Boyd (Laurie) Brown; many loving nieces and nephews..
Though gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.
