David A Roberts

David A. Roberts, 60 passed away peacefully December 3, 2016 after a hard fought battle with cancer with many family members and friends by his side. Dave was the beloved husband of LeAnne (Goode) and adoring father of Sydney Grace Roberts.

Dave was born June 28, 1956 and grew up in Portland and Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Dave’s love of life was unmatched. He enjoyed spending time with family and telling stories with his many lifelong friends. He never passed up a chance to cook a great meal, especially his famous breakfast burritos. The light of Dave’s life was his daughter Sydney. They shared a passion for sports and for going out to eat at Pizza Villa.

Dave’s favorite pastimes were skiing at Shawnee Peak and golfing with friends.

Dave fought so hard until the end. He shared over and over that he was a lucky guy and he had a great, full life. We were even more priviledged to have known him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Grace Roberts. He is survived by his devoted brothers, Gardner Roberts and his wife Cathy, Curtis Libby Roberts, son-in-law of Tom and Del Goode, brother-in-law of Lyn Cassidy and Mark Goode and his wife Jennifer. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephew. Dave was so fortunate to have much love and support from his community in Cape Elizabeth and his Austin, Texas friends. He will be sadly missed by his family dog, Bailey.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, 4-7 PM from the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Woodfords Church, 202 Woodford St., Portland. The Rev Carolyn Lambert will officiate. Burial will be private.
