

YARMOUTH – Doris Kiriluk Rayder, 81, of Yarmouth Maine and Wellfleet Massachusetts, and formerly of Fayetteville NY, died September 26, 2013 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease at Bay Square, Yarmouth. She was born December 11, 1931 in New York City, the daughter of Fred and Minnie Kiriluk. She was the second of four siblings; Amelia, Nina and Andrew all predeceased her. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Michael L. Rayder in 2010.
She graduated from Central Connecticut State College in 1953 from which she received a degree in elementary education. She taught kindergarten and first grade for several years in Brookline MA, West Hartford CT, and Baldwinsville NY before the births of her children.
A homemaker and dedicated volunteer for most of her adult life, Doris excelled in the cooking, cleaning and driving skills required to raise four children, and the support she provided to her physician husband. The greatest joy of her life was her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time in the summer at her cottage in the woods in Wellfleet on Cape Cod. Her Lutheran faith was a cornerstone for everything that she did.
Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Rayder and Stephen Mosley of Newtown PA, son Michael Rayder of Falmouth and New Harbor ME, son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Holly Rayder of Hampton NH, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Catherine Rayder of Boulder CO; and her much loved 14 grandchildren: Ben, Brooke, Max, Kacey, Tommy, Cameron, Nicholas, Hannah, Jenna, Lucas, Abigail, Christopher, Joshua, and Edmund.
There is no visitation scheduled. Funeral services will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 265 Middle Road, Falmouth Maine on Monday October 7th at 10:00 am. Interment will be at a later date.
