

Dot was born January 12, 1924 in Limestone, (The County) Maine of parents Bertha and Benjamin Franklin Long.
A single child, she had a beloved "adopted brother", cousin Curtis who remained a life- long best friend.
Married to James W. Buck October 30, 1942 in Limestone, Maine.
Valedictorian of her high school class, she attended Maine School of Commerce in Bangor Maine in 1941, now Husson University.
A life-long lover of music she sang in the church choir and played the piano and organ for most of her life.
Married to a farmer, early in their marriage, she cooked from scratch and canned, froze, and preserved many foods from the large farm garden, and was know particularly for her "cold mustard pickles".
Throughout her long life she enjoyed working at many different positions including at Gorham State College and Gorham Village Elementary School.
She enjoyed decorating and setting up of each the homes that she and Jim moved in to including Limestone, Caribou, Trenton, Gorham, Standish, and Scarborough in Maine as well as in Florida and New Mexico.
She would always be found working diligently on her crossword puzzles or some craft project that would result in a gift for family members.
Dot is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jim; son Larry of Cedar Crest, New Mexico; daughter, Sally Lancaster of Standish, Maine; son Kendall of Wilmot, New Hampshire; six grandchildren and one great grandson.
