Dorothy was born in Portland, ME, a daughter of Harold K. And Elizabeth (Hawkes) Bustin. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1957. She served in the Women’s Army Corps stationed in Governors Island, New York with Administrative duties. She graduated from Husson College in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in Business. She was Treasurer of Narfe National Association of Retired Employees, Saco branch. She worked 25 plus years at Military Entrance Processing Center in Portland, Maine and also worked part-time at Filenes and Porteous simultaneously. She also spent time working at Scarborough Downs. She loved watching the Red Sox, the Patriots and NASCAR. She was known as a great cook and enjoyed it. She also enjoyed knitting, live music, attending sporting events, most especially to watch her grandson Seneca play baseball and football for St. Johns High School.
She was a member of the Supreme Council Order of Pineland Amaranth, Pineland Court 6, South Portland, Maine and a member of Rainbow Girls.
She was predeceased by her sister Jeane Dolloff. She is survived by her daughters, Melinda A. Hillock of Paxton, Ma, Melody E. Hillock of North Palm Beach, FL; grandson, Seneca Hillock-Lonstien of Paxton. As well as nephew, David Dolloff of Westbrook, ME.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday,September 30, 2022, at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.
