

PORTLAND -- Edith Beatress Lefebvre, 99, of Portland, died on Oct. 16, 2013, at Falmouth by the Sea. She was born in Sommerville, Mass., the daughter of the late John B. Sr. and Annetta Dordoni Peverada, attending Portland schools graduating from Portland High School in 1933. She married Charles L. Lefebvre on Sept. 6, 1937. They made their home on 96 Cumberland Ave., Portland, known as the 'Peverada Compound.' They then moved to East Kidder Street where they lived with their three children for many years.
Edith worked for many years at Dudley-Weed Pharmacy at Woodfords Corner and then for St. Clair's Pharmacy where she was well known and liked by all her customers.
Edith loved all children whether it be grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
She was a communicant of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a member of it's Ladies Guild.
Her husband Charles died in 1995. She was also predeceased by her four sisters, Angelina McEntee, Mary Barter, Annette Aceto and Ermina DiBiase, two brothers, Bartholomew Peverada and Joseph Peverada. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Wright and her husband Fred of Windham, two sons, Charles Lefebvre and his wife Sandra of Cumberland Center and John Lefebvre and his wife Lois of Portland; three brothers, Anthony 'Tony' Peverada of Portland, John Peverada of Portland and Caesar Peverada and his wife Kiyo of Hawaii; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
Family prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m., to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Ocean Avenue, Portland. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, So. Portland.
Edith's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Falmouth by the Sea and to Dr. Richard Marino. They would also like to extend special thanks to all who provided special care, support and prayers for Edith.
