Elite L. Bouchard Boyd, a lifelong resident of Portland, Maine, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in the same close knit neighborhood she would call home for her entire life, Elite built a world defined by kindness, creativity, and an open door that welcomed everyone who crossed her path.
Elite was a woman of many talents and endless generosity. A gifted crocheter, crafter, and gardener, she poured her heart into everything she made. Her hands were rarely still, always creating something beautiful for the people she loved. She shared her creativity with the community through the craft store she proudly owned, and she shared her compassion through her work as a nurse — a role that perfectly matched her gentle spirit.
Above all else, Elite was devoted to her family. She was the loving mother of Winifred, Carrie, James, Tyechia, Nerissa, and Melissa, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother, and she adored her grandchildren: Zachary, Jacob, Gabriel, Trevaun, Divinity, Sumayah, Paul, Brendan, Maxine, Ashely, Xavier, Brianna, and Stella. She was also blessed with many great grandchildren, each one adding to the joy and fullness of her life.
Elite’s home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Whether she was entertaining her grandchildren, tending her garden, or crafting something special for someone who needed a bit of warmth, she gave freely and without hesitation. Her generosity was boundless. Her love was steady. Her door was never closed.
She will be remembered as an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and great grandmother — a woman whose heart had room for everyone, whose kindness shaped countless lives, and whose legacy of love will continue to grow through the family she nurtured.
Elite L. Bouchard Boyd leaves behind a family who will forever carry her spirit with them, and a community made better by her presence.
