

Emma Irene Leo, 85 passed away Monday May 9, 2010. She was born in Portland, ME January 10, 1926 the daughter of Antoino Leo and Emelia (Amabile) Leo. She had attended Kavanaugh Parochial School and was a communicant of St. Peters Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Italian Heritage Club.
Emma was on her own since she was 16 years old. She worked and bought used cars and became quite an auto mechanic, working on her cars. It was nothing for her to change parts on her vehicles. She later possessed quite a few new vehicles. Emma had worked at a Pants factory on Middle St., Songo Shoe, Bayside, the fish factories on commercial street and She worked in the Developing room at Fairchild Semi Conductor from where she retired.
Emma had many friends during her lifespan. She spent 50 years of her life living with her sister Adeline Powers. Emma spent many visitations w8ith her sister in Revere, MA and her cousins in Boston. She will be sadly missed.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by 7 brothers, Carmine, Louis, Rocky, Albert and Thomas; 7 Sisters Jenny Bibbard, Adaline Powers, Julia Gorey, Amelia Leo, Mary Gordan, Ida Albano and Emma Leo and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her brother, William Leo of Portland and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Sunday May 15, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Funeral Services will be held on Monday May 16, 2011 at 10 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
