Eunice, known to her family as Noone, was the fourth of seven children growing up in greater Portland. She entered the convent directly after high school, became a Sister of Mercy and completed her degree in early childhood education. She loved little children and worked as a first grade teacher most of her career. She left the convent when she was in her 50s and worked as a receptionist until her arthritis became debilitating. She was an active member of the 75 State Street community where she lived the last 6 years with her dear kitty, Mandy.
Eunice is predeceased by her parents, her brother Charles Roberts, her sisters Teresa Roberts and Mary Libby Rogers. She is survived by her brother Edward Roberts in Alaska and sisters Veronica Eaton in Maine and Bea Mazzrillo in Florida, as well as numerous nieces/ nephews, great nieces/nephews and a few great greats.
Services with Jones, Rich and Barnes will be held in the spring. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at 75 State Street, Rheumatology Associates and Beacon Hospice for their kindness and support. Donations in Eunice’s memory may be made to the Advancement Office, 75 State St (Maintenance Department), Portland, ME 04101, the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland https://arlgp.org/make-a-gift/donate/ or the Arthritis Foundation https://www.arthritis.org/donate.
