Gary Thomas Noyes

Gary T. Noyes, 69, of Portland, Maine, passed away on August 16, 2026.

Born on September 25, 1956, in Hawthorne, California, Gary was the son of Donald and Stella Noyes. He was raised alongside his sister, Geraldine Marchand.

Gary was a proud member of UA Local 716 Maine Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and spent his career working as a pipefitter. His years in the trade reflected the hardworking and dedicated nature that those who knew him will remember.

On December 18, 2009, Gary married his longtime love, Deborah Conley, after many years together. Gary and Deborah shared more than four decades of life, love, family, and memories.

Gary enjoyed the simple things in life, especially fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as “Bumpy,” while others knew him affectionately as “Ga-Ga.” No matter what name you knew him by, Gary will be remembered by those who loved him and the many lives he touched.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Stella Noyes, and his brother-in-law, Gilles Marchand.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Conley Noyes; his sister, Geraldine Marchand; his stepchildren, Michele Conley and Tisha Campbell and her husband, Dan Campbell; his grandchildren, Sierra Conley, Giavanna Campbell, Makenna Campbell, and Sophia Splaine; and his great-grandchildren, Amina, Jasmine, and Kingston Conley.

He is also survived by his niece, Jessica Marchand, her partner, Rich Porter, and their son, Noah Porter; and his niece, Rachael Woodbury, her husband, Josh Woodbury, and their children, Austin, Cyrus, and Estelle Woodbury.

A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, what would have been his 70th birthday, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bruno’s Restaurant & Tavern, 33 Allen Avenue, Portland, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that contributions be made in Gary’s memory to the Maine Journeymen Group.
