Gertrude "Lena" Ortiz

Portland – Ms. Gertrude “Lena” Ortiz, 66, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Lena was born May 26, 1944 in Portland, Maine, daughter of the late Gerado and Hazel Ortiz.

Lena was a strong-minded woman who treasured her family and the time she spent with them.

She found enjoyment in shopping, gardening, theatre and music.

Lena is predeceased by her husband, Arnold D. Richards, Jr.; daughter, Angelena Marie Richards; one grandchild, Lindsey.

Lena is survived by her children, Arnold D. Richards III, William H.E. Richards, Michelle L. Richards; adopted daughter, Brigitte McDonald and her husband Michael; siblings, Joanne Nappi, Marie Bowden, Rosemary Miller, John H. Rundin Jr, Richard E. Rundin; nine grandchildren.

Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Lena will be held, Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2pm at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Francis officiating
