

Portland, Maine-Henry S. Orlando age, 89, of Scarborough, formerly of Ormond Beach, Florida, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Maine Medical Center. He was born in Portland on July 12, 1923 the oldest son of Richard A. and Annunciata Grassi Orlando. Henry attended local schools and worked as a construction toolmaker in the family business. He also worked for the Department of Transportation as a bridgetender on the Portland/South Portland Bridge retiring in 1990. He was a life member of AMVETS Post #25. Henry was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Daytona Beach, Florida, and attended daily mass at Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach, Florida. Henry and his wife, Imogene, recently moved back to Maine.
Henry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Imogene Rainey Orlando of Scarborough, three sons Richard, Gerard, and John, two daughters Elizabeth Orlando and Altana Duclos, two brothers Aladino Orlando and Joseph Sanzo, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Henry was predeceased by his daughter Nancy Szabo and his brother Louis Orlando.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, October 18 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Friday, October 19 at 10:00AM. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland, Maine.
