He is survived by his two sons, James and Anthony Lindvall of Portland, Maine, his daughter Abigail Lindvall of Quincy, Massachusetts, his sisters, Jill Gilbert of Winslow, Maine and Jane Newcomb of Kennebunk, Maine and several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly as "Big Jim.”
Jim spent the early part of his career working in Boston and returned to Maine in 1983 to raise his family and lived and worked in Portland. Jim loved his home on Little Sebago Lake where he lived for many years with his faithful companion Marley, his boxer dog, and more recently with his newest boxer puppy, Frankie. Jim loved sports, particularly football, and was an avid follower of several teams and a Sunday football fan extraordinaire! In years past, he also played softball, racquetball and was an avid boater. Jim also coached his sons' little league and basketball teams many years ago always ensuring that everyone on the teams had fun. Jim enjoyed especially summers on his boat, the Kingfish, and spent many happy days on the lake with his 3 children and his many friends. He was a proud father, always telling people about his three children graduating from college and most recently, about his daughter Abby's law school graduation and admission to the Bar. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
