Joanne met her husband, Robert, in the 8th grade and graduated from Portland High School in 1950. Shortly after high school, she married Robert Leo, and together they shared 59 years of marriage and raised four beautiful children—building a family life defined by loyalty, constancy, and care.
A devoted mother, Joanne also worked for Jordan Marsh for 25 years before retiring. Those who knew her will remember how she would frequently return from work with something she bought that day—small, familiar moments that reflected her everyday presence and the way she quietly brought warmth into the lives around her.
Joanne was an avid bowler who collected many trophies, and she found joy in the simple closeness of conversation, often spending time on the phone with those she loved. She also cherished traveling with her two sisters, Jeanne and Patti, visiting places such as Mexico, Ireland, and Aruba, among others. Through all the seasons of her life, Joanne was reliable in the ways that matter most—someone others could count on, and someone deeply beloved.
Joanne is predeceased by her Husband, Robert; Son, Thomas Leo and his wife, Trula; Son, Stephen Leo; Grandson, Nicholas Norris.
Joanne is survived by her Son, Robert Leo and his wife, Cheryl, Daughter Patricia Norris and her husband, Richard; Daughter-In-Law, Brenda Leo; Sister, Jeanne Tetreau; Sister, Patricia Flaherty; Five Grandchildren, Amy, Kristin, Kerianne, Kari, Andrew; Seven Great-Grandchildren, Faith Marie, Colin, Reagan, Patrick, Max, Abigail, and Austin.
