

Kenneth was born and raised in Portland and was a graduate of Deering High School in 1946. After he graduated high school he joined the Navy where he spent two years as a radar technician. After he left the Navy he went to the University of Maine in Orono, and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in business administration. Upon graduation, Kenneth started working for Washington National Insurance Company for 30 plus years before retiring. He was a lifelong member of the Woodford’s Club and he spent 80 years as a member of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church. Kenneth enjoyed water skiing, downhill skiing, spending time at his camp on Little Sebago, enjoyed riding his bike (without a helmet), and enjoyed taking his yearly trips to Virginia Beach to visit his daughter Lisa and his grandchildren. Kenneth was blessed to take one final road trip this past year with his sister Elaine Johnson to New Brunswick, Canada for a family wedding.
Kenneth’s positive attitude and infectious smile will be greatly missed by his children, K. Scott, Stephen, and Lisa; his sister, Elaine Johnson; his four grandchildren, Andrew, Sam, Devin, and Nathan and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased recently by his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Janet L. Keith
A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10am at the Woodford Congregational Church, 202 Woodford St. Portland, ME 04103, with Pastor Dodie Sheffield officiating. Immediately following the service there will be light refreshments and continued fellowship. A private burial will take place following the services for Kenneth.
