

On July 4, 2026, the world grew a little quieter as Marcel A. Cormier “Mark” departed this life at the age of 71. He moved through the world with a deep appreciation and love for his family and supportive community. He had a warm laugh, and a heart that welcomed all.
Born on May 4, 1955, to Beatrice E. and Marcel A, Cormier in Springfield, Massachusetts. However, he resided in Maine for most of his life.
Marcel enjoyed working at Circle-K in Gardiner and Augusta Maine before retiring after 26 years. He developed long lasting friendships within his community and had a life where he was beloved by his family.
He appreciated music and enjoyed singing karaoke and recording songs he liked to sing. His favorite sports teams were the Red Sox, the Patriots and the Boston Celtics. He enjoyed participation in the Special Olympics and took great pride in winning his medals. One of his favorite summer activities was camping at Pine Tree Camp.
He is survived by his sisters: Demerise K Cormier and her Husband Brian A. Lee of Farmington, New Mexico; Diane M. Cormier of Brunswick, Maine; Deborah J. Cormier (Smith) and her husband Walter Smith of Helotes, Texas, and his brother: Paul Cormier of Randolf, Maine along with several nephews, nieces, grandniece and grandnephews.
Predeceased by: Father: Marcel P. Cormier, Mother: Beatrice E. Lund (Cormier), Sister: Joanne C. Cormier, all Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, some cousins and a grandnephew.
Friends and family are invited to Mark's Memorial Service on July 22, 2026, at 11am at the United Methodist Church, 31 Highland Avenue, Gardiner, ME followed by gathering at the church. Viewing and burial were private for family only.
