Scarborough- Martin Christopher Nappi, 53, of Portland passed away on January 2, 2014. The son of the late Frederick Gildart and Mary Nappi, he was born on February 9, 1960 in Portland. He attended Portland schools graduating from Portland High School. His passion was stone masonry and he was the proprietor of Nappi Masonry. His specialty was building stonewalls many of which have been featured in Down East Magazine. Martin also enjoyed spending time with his four siblings and their families, and was the life of the party at holiday and family gatherings. He was known for his positive attitude, and even reflected this attitude during his recent illness, never asking for anything, and not letting the illness define who he was.
Martin is survived by his daughter Sarah, his three grandchildren, his sister Becky, his sister Lori, and her husband David, his brother Dean, his sister Stephanie, his three nieces, Nicole, Miranda, and Sydney, and his two nephews Shawn, and Nathan.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 12:00 PM at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal St. Portland, with Father Michael Seavey officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
