Mary M DiPaolo, 72, passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 8th, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born February 7th, 1949, in Westbrook, ME to the late Merton and Evelyn Estes. She was married to John R. DiPaolo, her husband of over 52 years.
Mary led a long and fulfilling life despite constant battles with a multitude of medical conditions throughout. She was a very strong and selfless woman with a passion for gardening, a great love of hummingbirds and her rescue dog, Sadie, and spending time with her beloved family and friends. She was well-known for bringing everyone together, whenever and however she could, always with love and plenty of food to share.
She took great pride in being a wonderful homemaker, beautiful wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and loyal friend to many. Mary was very crafty and resourceful, able to make many things out of nothing, and shared her talents with many over the years.
In years past she enjoyed bowling on Thursdays, Saturday night card games, barbecues and potlucks, and many summers days at camp on Long Lake.
Mary M DiPaolo amateur craftsman, painter, farmer, food artisan, landscaper, decorator, and tinkerer was better known for her ability to create, nurture, and maintain her family. From excelling at a motherly and wifely role, to being a daughter who cared for aging parents until the very end, to being the best sibling she could be to no fault, she was the most dedicated person imaginable.
Mary was the youngest of 3 children, but was predeceased by her parents Merton and Evelyn Estes, brother Earland Estes, and sister Erlene McCormick.
She is survived by husband, John R., children, John T. DiPaolo and his wife Ella, and Kristen Citrano and her husband Jason, grandchildren, Shawn Doyle and his wife Bryn, Caitlin Doyle, Joshua Citrano, and adopted grandchild Ashley Thibodeau, several brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, aunt, nieces, and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
As per Mary's wishes no funeral services will be held, with a graveside commital for close family members to be done at a later date to be decided. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday September 26th from 1pm-4pm at the Friendly Village Community Building 5 Ash Dr. Gorham.
Family and friends are asked to bring a dish and stories to share.
