Mary Alice Purseglove

Mary Alice Purseglove, perhaps better known as “Perc”, 80 died Sunday September 29, 2013 at Portland Medical Center, Maine. She was born July 25, 1933 in Northampton, Massachusetts the daughter of Havlock and Arlene Purseglove and attended schools there graduating from Northampton High School. Miss Purseglove attended Nasson College in Maine and was employed in the Dietary Department at Main Medical for many years. Perc was fiercely stubborn and independent as all that knew her would attest. With the help of many friends; Gina, Harry, Brenda, David and Tony, and there were others too she managed to stay in her home despite her physical challenges. Perc was an avid sports fan and love to watch the Red Sox’s, Celtics and Patriots play. We all know that she will be cheering for the Sox’s even though she can’t watch the games. She is survived by her brother Charles Purseglove of Lincoln, Illinois a nephew and two nieces.

Friends and family are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday October 4, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM with a memorial service to be held at 6:00 P.M. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street Portland, Maine.
