

During the Korean War, Mary Joan served with the Women’s Army Corps as a dental technician at the 5th General Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany. After the war; Mary Joan Studied bookkeeping and worked in New York City for a woman’s clothing business.
Mary is survived by a nieces, Elaine Wiskont, Mary Curran of Brookline, MA; nephew, Robert Wadsworth of Standish; Martha and Gilbert Congdon of Portland.
Mary was predeceased by her good friend Kay O’Brien.
Friends may call from 3-6 P.M. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church 673 Stevens Ave. Portland, ME on June 22, 2017 at 10 A.M. Interment will be at a later date at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
