Maxine June King

Portland - Maxine June King, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed from this world on Saturday, August 14, 2010 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Maxine was predeceased by her parents, John and Beatrice McLean, her husband of 63 years, Robert, and her two brothers, Donald and Richard, and two sisters, Evelyn and Marjorie. She is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Her children are Bruce McLean King and wife Suzanne King of Lexington Virginia, Robert Lee King Jr. of Portland, Maxine Leigh Sirois and her husband Maurice Rideout of Norridgewock, and Meredith Jean King and husband Richard Harmon of Portland.

Maxine was a loving and caring and a stay at home Mom until the youngest child was in high school. It was then that she pursued her career by attending nursing college and graduating as Licensed Practical Nurse from SMVTI and being employed by MMC and Dr Paul F. Bonjour whom she greatly admired. Dr Bonjour remained her personal physician and friend until her passing. Maxine was also employed for many years on Unit C at Saint Joseph’s Manor and where she subsequently passed away.

She shall be painfully missed by all of her adoring family. No one ever had a more loving, caring and supporting mother and grandmother we were all blessed by her wonderful life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday August 17, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the North Deering Congregational Church 1364 Washington Avenue, Portland with the Rev. Mark E. Rustin officiating

Interment will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park Portland.
