Michael Herbert Tyler

Michael Herbert Tyler, 69, of Gulfport, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. Born and raised in Reading, Massachusetts, Mike was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather whose legacy of love, leadership, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Tyler of Gulfport, FL; his parents, Herb and Grace Tyler of Scarborough, ME; his daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Dana Geneseo, and Samantha and Jarrod Canane, both of Maine; and his siblings, Glenn and Laurie Tyler, Dianne and Tony Flammia, and Dave and Michelle Tyler. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Mike retired after a distinguished and passionate career as CEO of Tyler Machine Tool Company, where his leadership left a lasting impact. Retirement brought him the opportunity to spend more time in Florida, where he and Brenda embraced their love of golf and the warm community of Gulfport.

Mike was known for his deep commitment to his family, his steady guidance, and his generous spirit. He was always willing to give a helping hand to friends and family - no matter the time, distance, or challenge. Whether on the golf course, in the boardroom, or gathered around the table with loved ones, he brought humor, wisdom, and warmth to every moment. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on May 3rd from 11:00am to 12:00pm immediately followed by a service at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home , 199 Woodford St. Portland ME . A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date with details to be announced.
