

Westbrook - Mildred “Millie” Evelyn Cushman, 93, entered into the care and keeping of her Lord and Savior on Saturday January 27, 2018. She left us peacefully at her home in The Stroudwater Lodge in Westbrook, Maine.
Mildred was born on April 30, 1924 to Edward and Marian (Milliken) Maby in Eliot, ME. She graduated from Traip Academy in Kittery and continued on to Maine General Hospital School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse. She married Kelsey Winston Cushman on November 27, 1948.
Mildred’s most treasured accomplishment was raising her three children. Mildred and her family were longtime members of Stroudwater Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and played the chimes. She also enjoyed playing the violin in her youth. She blessed her family and friends through her love of crafting, especially knitting, and left behind many Christmas ornaments and blankets to cherish. Mildred’s kind smile and sweet spirit were defining qualities that will be remembered lovingly by all who knew her.
Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Kelsey Cushman, of Cape Elizabeth; daughter Diane Guay of Cape Elizabeth; brother Ernest Maby of Kittery; brother Earl Maby of Lee, MA.
She is survived by son and daughter in law, Albert and Laurinda Cushman of Friendship; son David Cushman of North Waterboro; son in law Paul Guay of Portland; grandchildren Hope Price, Jessica Barrett, Cecily Havener, Kristina Cushing, Kelsey Presley, Ryan Cushman, Andrew Guay, 10 great grandchildren; brother “Edward Bert” Maby of Kittery, sister Elizabeth Rainier of Kittery.
Friends and family are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday February 1, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland, Maine. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home following visitation. Interment will immediately follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland, Maine. There will be a reception at the funeral home following the interment at Brooklawn.
