

Born on September 17, 1923, in Lubec, Maine, Norma was a longtime resident of Scarborough, Maine, where she built a life centered on family, resilience, and enduring love. She lived through more than a century of change, remaining grounded in strong values and a deep devotion to those closest to her.
Norma dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working in healthcare until the age of 89. Her commitment to helping people reflected her compassionate nature and strong work ethic.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Norma loved reading, shopping, attending community concerts, watching birds, and tending to flowers. Above all, she cherished time spent visiting with her family and loved ones.
Norma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman J. Stanley Jr.; her daughter, Lin Casella; and her son, Rusty Stanley.
She is survived by her eight children and their spouses: Lo and Bob Parker of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; Craig and Linda Stanley of Lisbon, Maine; Skip and Chi Hye Stanley of Hartly, Delaware; Kermit and Paula Stanley of Falmouth, Maine; Roz and Bill Walton of Auburn, Maine; Dee Stanley of Scarborough, Maine; Gary and Janice Stanley of Huntington, West Virginia; and Kathy and George Pluto of McMinnville, Tennessee. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her memory and legacy.
Norma will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the deep care she gave to her family. Her long life was a testament to perseverance and love, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and Family are invited to a Time of Visitation on Friday May 22 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodford Street, Portland, Maine. Burial immediately following visitation in Evergreen Cemetery Portland.
