Pam, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Olin was a pleasure to work with; a real gentleman and a fine actuary. And I got a chance to hear the musical talents and joys of your father at a Christmas party one year. My condolences, Tom Hinrichs

Dear Willie, Pam, Bill and George,

We are all so very sorry for your loss. Olin was such a special man - kind, gentle, talented, engaging, supportive, and fun. The boys loved sailing with him at camp. We all enjoyed visiting with him , and I will be forever grateful that he (and Willie and Myrna) were my surrogate “parents” at the biggest professional events of my life - the very times when I missed my parents the most.

Rest In Peace sweet Olin, and know we will all take good care of Your beloved Willie.

My deepest condolences to the Sawyer family. Olin and I spent so many years talking, walking, and laughing together. He was a true gentleman. I believe my IQ always received a much needed boost after my talks with Olin. I’ll never forget our walks together, it was always my honor to spend time and learn from such a dignified man.

Condolences to the entire Sawyer family.
I first met Olin when I arrived at Union Mutual in 1973 and was a work and professional colleague until he left Unum, though whenever we visited someone at MMC we would reconnect and catch up on each others lives and families. Here are the attributes I'd ascribe to Olin:
A welcoming smile and handshake at every encounter
Even keeled mild mannered and friendly to everyone
The Life of the party whenever there was a piano available
Hard working, dedicated conscientious employee
Proud and loving husband, father and grandfather

He left many wonderful memories to be cherished.

Heartfelt condolences to you, Willie, and to your children and grandchildren from Steve and me. After knowing and working with Olin at Unum all those years ago, it was lovely to reconnect with him in the last year. His smile and his kindness still so apparent. And a delight to hear him play the piano. Wishing you peace now and then comfort in memories of your long life together. Mary Lou

To Wilma and family- Olie and I were best of buddies. We spent many happy hours breaking into his parents liquor cabinet. I tried to go to Bowdoin with Olie but his grades were much better than mine so I ended up at Maine. I will miss him. My thoughts are with you all at this time. Ron Thurston

Dear Wilma & family,
Olin was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I remember him inviting my grandsons to go sailing with him on Sebec Lake. It was a wonderful opportunity for them and they had a great time learning a new sport! I hope he and Len, my husband, are “Sebec Lake” reminiscing. With deepest sympathies from my entire family.
You’re in my heart,
