Randall was born on March 8, 1949, a son of Louise and Randall Jordan.
He served from 1968-1969 in the 101st Airborne Army Infantry. The horror of war was always part of him and he never really came back from Vietnam. Like all living casualties of war, PTSD affected all his family and friends. He didn’t want people to reminisce about the war and the Bronze Star he was awarded for meritorious duties in the Vietnam War. For every award he earned, the cost was mental and spiritual burdens to his soul.
He will be remembered for his military service, he was an accomplished dancer and a renowned runner. His off putting humor, free spirit and ability to solve problems creatively, as well as his love for golfing, dancing, running and wanderlust, are attributes that we will remember fondly.
“His soul is finally free
from the monster he could be”
~Carey Jordan
He was predeceased by his nephew, Kevin MacDonald; a sister, Sandra Dorr, and his parents. He is survived by his twin daughters, Terry and Carey Jordan; grandson, Cale Jordan; twin granddaughters, Lily and Dahlia Jordan and his sisters, Diane Jordan, Lorraine Jordan-DiPierro Janice DiMauro, as well as nieces (Shelly, Angela, Michelle, Maria and Lindsey) and nephews (Brian, Greg and Michael) and his companion of 12yrs, Barbara Bagshaw, who was at his side when he passed.
There will not be a memorial service, as he didn't want to rehash the past. Randy was “above average” in everything he did, from the mundane to the profane. He did not want us talking about his accomplishments and on the other hand, the wild stories, many we will never forget.
Immediate family are invited to gather at a graveside interment at Spurwink Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, date to be determined.
