Gorham - Raymond C. Shepard passed away on March 1st at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough. Raymond was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 2nd, 1928. He worked as a Marketing Manager for Gulf Oil Corporation for 27 years.
After he retired, he and his wife spent their winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where his love of deep sea fishing put a serious dent in the local fish population.
Summer months were spent in Maine, where he scoured flea markets for old antique trunks, which he painstakingly restored and sold to the locals. In Gorham, he became known as “The Trunk Man” and many of his neighbors owned more than one of them.
After 60 years of marriage, he is survived by his wife Eleanor. Additionally he has a son Gary, a daughter Sandra and 3 grand children.
At Raymond’s request, there will be no services.
